Get to know Neurologist Dr. Indira De Jesus, who serves patients in Dover, Delaware. 

A devoted neurologist, Dr. De Jesus has been practicing as a full time tele neurologist for the past year. Prior to this position, she served as a Neurointensivist and Neurologist at ChristianaCare Health System in Delaware, and as the Neurocritical Care Department Director at Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia.

Pertaining to her educational pursuits, she received her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. She completed her residency in neurology at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, and then received specialized training at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida, completing a fellowship in neurocritical care.

Following her training, the doctor attained board certification in neurology and neurocritical care by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

In order to remain up to date in her field, Dr. De Jesus is involved in multiple national organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology, the American College of Physicians Association, the American Medical Association, and the Neurocritical Care Society. She has conducted research related to physiology and neurocritical care and presented at numerous regional conferences.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
