Dr. Vanyo is an experienced general surgeon who serves as the Medical Director of the Breast Health Program at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center in Pomona, California.

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center has been caring for patients in Pomona and surrounding areas for over a century. Founded back in 1903, the not-for-profit regional medical center has always been dedicated to providing world-class, cost-effective medical care to patients. The mission of Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is to continually improve the quality of health in the community by ensuring the staff meet the needs of the diverse individuals living in it. 

In her professional experience, Dr. Vanyo serves as Cancer Physician Liaison to the American College of Surgeons, of which is a Fellow. She is also affiliated with Casa Colina Surgery Center, as well as holds membership status with the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery, which is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. 

Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Vanyo earned her medical degree from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1994. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in general surgery at the Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1995 and 1999, respectively. 

General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. A general surgeon performs a wide range of abdominal surgeries for many forms of intestinal and abdominal wall neoplasms, gallbladder disease, gastric and pancreatic disease. They follow the patient through critical care and surgical recovery all the way to outpatient care.

In addition to English, Dr. Vanyo speaks Spanish.
