Before embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Vanyo earned her medical degree from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1994. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in general surgery at the Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1995 and 1999, respectively.
General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, appendix and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland.
