Get to know Pulmonologist Dr. Brian M. Gotkin, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

A board-certified pulmonologist, Dr. Gotkin is the Medical Director of Adult Pulmonology at Memorial Healthcare System, working with patients at Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Memorial Hospital West, and Memorial Regional Hospital.

Since its inception in 1953, Memorial Healthcare System has been a leader in providing high-quality healthcare services to South Florida residents. With a broad educational background, Dr. Gotkin earned his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1993, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the McGaw Medical Center/Northwestern University in 1996. He completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1999, and his fellowship in sleep disorders at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2000.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care.

Among his professional affiliations, he is a proud member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Florida Pulmonary Society.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system, including the nose, pharynx, and throat.
