Treating all aspects of orthopaedics, Dr. Kemmler is a thoroughly trained orthopaedic surgeon serving as the Founder of Kemmler Orthopaedic Center in Celina, Ohio. He also brings his philosophy of nurturing, caring, and fun, born out of his practice of orthopaedics, to MöR Rehab.

“I’ve always loved science, and I think in terms of proper structure and mechanics. Fixing things is a passion. Orthopaedics gives me the opportunity to help people get well and return them to their work, their sports, and their lifestyles” expressed the doctor.

Kemmler Orthopaedic Center strives to provide the best in orthopaedic care. Focused on a personalized, caring approach to both conservative and surgical orthopaedic problems, Dr. Kemmler and his dedicated staff add expertise in the realm of patient care and efficiency. They offer an array of services dedicated to restoring musculoskeletal wellbeing and helping individuals return to work, sports, or their usual lifestyle.

“I prefer a more personalized and higher standard of care. Interacting with patients on a personal level is important and valuable. I take time with my patients and try to gear care towards them individually. My goal is both a quality orthopaedic outcome as well as a globally satisfying experience” stated Dr. Kemmler.

Graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with his Bachelor of Science degree from DePauw University, Dr. Kemmler went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, in Chicago. He then served his residency in orthopaedic surgery at The University of Illinois in Chicago, practicing at the University Hospital, Cook County Hospital, Michael Reese Hospital, VA Hospital and Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Oak Park, IL.

“I have learned so much about people by traveling to third world countries and doing my residency in primarily underprivileged tertiary care centers. These experiences have taught me to appreciate people of all backgrounds. We, as a group, and I personally, strive to help people at all levels” he conveyed.

Providing excellence in orthopaedics and sports medicine, he is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons. Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

Guiding individuals down a path to recovery, Dr. Kemmler works with a group called the Children’s Medical Mission West to help children, coming from Africa, with their orthopaedic needs. He helped co-found a successful community group called ‘Giving Thanks’. Its primary goal is helping people who are in need of food and fellowship, primarily surrounding Thanksgiving, but also with donations to other groups. He has also enjoyed donating time to young people through the school athletic programs, helping both on and off the field.

Interest in the arts has led him to become a supporting member of the West Ohio Art League and the Ohio Watercolor Society. He has helped to co-found a group called ACE (Arts for Community Enrichment) led by master glassblower, James Kahle, with a mission to foster the teaching, promotion, recognition, and accessibility of the Arts for the enrichment of the Community.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Kemmler enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, skiing, bicycling, traveling, photography, music, gardening, and art.
