Throughout her academic career, Dr. Nani earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1990. She then went on to complete her residency within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago in 1994, followed by her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Beth Israel Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston in 1996.
Following her education, she became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology & reproductive endocrinology and infertility by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. It was founded in 1927 and is based in Dallas, Texas.
Having been practicing medicine since 1996, Dr. Nani has presented numerous scientific papers at national meetings, including the Presidential Plenary Talk at the Society for Gynecologic Investigation in 1997.
Reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) is a surgical subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that trains physicians in reproductive medicine addressing hormonal functioning as it pertains to reproduction, as well as the issue of infertility. While most REI specialists primarily focus on the treatment of infertility, reproductive endocrinologists are trained to also evaluate and treat hormonal dysfunctions in females and males outside after the reproductive years.
On a more personal note, Dr. Nani is a native of Los Angeles. Her favorite group is The Grateful Dead. In her spare time, she likes to ride motorcycles if the weather permits it, and do crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
