Get to know Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr. Hector Rivera Reyes, who serves patients in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico.

Dr. Rivera Reyes is a compassionate and attentive child and adolescent psychiatrist who evaluates patients throughout childhood and adolescence using many different procedures in order to determine what treatments must be carried out in order to properly assess their symptoms.  

In his current capacity, he sees patients at his private practice, Dynamic Psychiatric Solutions, located in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Dr. Rivera Reyes practices telemedicine, both in his private office as well as a consultant for Specialists on Call Telemed. He is also affiliated with Hospital Metropolitano Psiquiátrico Cabo Rojo. 

A 2008 graduate of the Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico, Dr. Rivera Reyes went on to complete his residency in psychiatry and his fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry at the University of Puerto Rico, Medical Sciences Campus in 2013 and 2014, respectively.  

Before long, the doctor became board-certified in psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists. 

To advance his professional efforts, he remains a member of the Puerto Rican Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and the Western Psychiatric Society. 

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. A child & adolescent psychiatrist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis and the treatment of disorders of thinking, feeling and/or behavior affecting children, adolescents, and their families.
