Dr. Esmaili grew up in Iran and immigrated to the United States when she was 20 years old to join her family and pursue her dream of becoming a Doctor. Dr. Esmaili is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2009. She graduated top in her class focusing on her academic accomplishments, oral cancer research, and earned the designation of Magna cum Laude. She completed her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biology from Metropolitan State College of Denver…a real homegrown dentist! She has completed numerous advanced education courses and her clinical experience has prepared her well for high-end dental restorative practice. Her focus is comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of TMJ and Occlusal issues, relation between craniofacial growth and airway and connection between mouth and the rest of the body. She is focused in treating complex dental needs and cosmetic dentistry.

It is recommended to remove dentures at night as bacteria can culture in them and be transferred back to your gums. Most common is fungal growth. It is best to keep them dry after cleaning them at night. No soaking. READ MORE

What are the signs that a root canal is needed?
First, an X-ray is needed to determine if there is infection in the tooth. Then, the tooth is aching and has lingering responses to hot and cold. Also will have spontaneous pain. I would recommend you see an oral surgeon to do a complete exam to rule out malignancy or cancer. Sometimes a vitamin deficiency (B12) can cause that tingling and taste bud alteration. But I would rule out cancer. READ MORE
Can using mouthwash frequently negatively impact the health of my teeth?
No, it can't, but it has alcohol and can dry your mouth. You only need it once in 24 hours. If you are concerned about the health of your teeth and gum, invest in a waterpik. You can use it multiple times a day and will be better for removing plaque. READ MORE
