Get to know Dermatopathologist Dr. Curtis Thompson, who serves patients in Tigard, Oregon.

A highly experienced dermatopathologist, Dr. Thompson is the Medical Director of CTA Pathology in Tigard, Oregon. He also serves as a Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Pathology at the Oregon Health & Sciences University. He specializes in alopecia and diseases of the nail.

CTA Pathology is a group of dermatopathologists with a passion for providing quality service to clients and patients alike. Their team of skin, hair, and nail experts specializes in dermpath consultations, direct immunofluorescence, digitized slide scanning, immunohistochemical and special staining.

In 1987, Dr. Thompson graduated with his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and his fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1995 and 1996, respectively.

Dr. Thompson regularly collaborates with students and residents on academic research projects and continues to deliver presentations worldwide at conferences such as the World Congress for Hair Research, the European Nail Society, and the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dermatopathology is a joint subspecialty of dermatology and pathology or surgical pathology that focuses on the study of cutaneous diseases at a microscopic and molecular level. A dermatopathologist is a highly trained physician who specializes in diagnosing disorders of the skin under a microscope.
