Dr. Jones, a Christian board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, serves patients at her private ambulatory gynecology practice, Patricia Hughes Jones, MD, PC, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also affiliated with Pennsylvania Hospital and Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

Her acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her medical degree from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine in 1984. Upon graduation, she went on to complete her residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lincoln University and a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Studies/Counseling from the Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary.

A Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada. 

Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts). An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
