Can a chiropractor help in treating migraines?
Of course, it all depends on the chiropractor, but typically yes. A good combination would be chiropractic and acupuncture, and you might want to meet with someone who focuses on functional medicine/nutrition. READ MORE
Pain years after spinal fusion surgery
Possibly. Sometimes over time after a fusion, the segments of the spine, or structures adjacent to the spine, that are not fused have to change how they move and can start to break down or hurt. READ MORE
I am having severe neck pain. What could be the reason?
I would suggest finding someone near you experienced in McKenzie Diagnosis and Therapy. In my experience, the most common cause of these symptoms is the intervertebral disc, and McKenzie is a very effective treatment. Pulling pain in back in morning. Could it be due to sleeping position?
It is most likely from your intervertebral discs absorbing fluid at night while you're not loading them being upright. I suggest finding a therapist or chiropractor trained in McKenzie Method near you and get it taken care of before it gets any worse. Here is their therapist locator for the US https://mckenzieinstituteusa.org/disclaimerTherapist.cfm READ MORE
Is sciatica pain a lifelong problem?
It depends. Typically, if the pain is not constant, meaning it gets better/worse/changes throughout the day, that is strong evidence that it can be treated conservatively. If it never gets any better at all and is there every minute of the day, therapy still can work but it might be a surgical issue (in which case you could still find relief). I would find a chiropractor or physical therapist near you trained in the McKenzie Method of Diagnosis and Therapy. Does an ortho cushion work for sitting long hours?
I think they can be helpful, but personally prefer McKenzie Lumbar Rolls. READ MORE
Do chiropractors typically take x-rays?
Many chiropractors x-ray every patient, it is very common. I would advise avoiding those who use the x-ray to determine treatment, but if he/she took them to rule out more sinister conditions that is perfectly reasonable. READ MORE
Can I visit a chiropractor to get my sinuses drained?
I have personally seen better results with acupuncture for sinus issues, though there are things a chiropractor can help with as well. Try to find someone who does both. READ MORE
My mother has been having pain in her legs, mainly while sitting. Can a chiropractor help in any way?
I would advise finding someone near you who uses McKenzie Therapy. Pain with sitting is likely to be a disc issue, and McKenzie is effective for such problems. Here is their provider finder for the US https://mckenzieinstituteusa.org/disclaimerTherapist.cfm READ MORE
Very tight neck
Chiropractic can provide some relief, but you have to answer the question of why it is always tight. I would look into finding someone who uses McKenzie therapy locally to see if you have an issue with an intervertebral disc, and see if anyone uses Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization or DNS near you to see if you're using those tight neck muscles to compensate for instability or improper breathing patterns. Is fertility reduced with spina bifida?
Spina bifida can effect the nerves that are responsible for urinary and bowel function, as well as sexual function. Sometimes, with men, though sexual function is seemingly normal, there is no ejaculation. However, if you're not noticing any altered sexual function, it is likely that he is perfectly fertile. If you're in doubt, or are having difficulty conceiving, you can of course see a physician, but it is just as likely that the condition has no effect whatsoever. Good luck! READ MORE
