Dr. Peter A. Soukas, a distinguished cardiologist, is making significant strides in the field of interventional cardiology and vascular medicine. With a wealth of experience and expertise, he has become a leading figure in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

As the Director of the Peripheral Vascular Interventional Laboratory at Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute at The Miriam Hospital, Dr. Soukas specializes in carotid stenting and the treatment of lower extremity disease. His commitment to excellence is evident in his role as an Associate Professor of Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he also serves as the Director of the Vascular and Endovascular Medicine Fellowship Program.

Dr. Soukas’ journey to becoming a renowned cardiologist began with his Medical Degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He further honed his skills through an internship and residency at Pennsylvania Hospital, cardiology and peripheral vascular medicine fellowships at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. 

A testament to his dedication to the field, Dr. Soukas is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), the Society of Vascular Medicine (FSVM), the Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), and the American College of Physicians (FACP). He holds multiple board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, vascular medicine, and endovascular medicine, and is certified in noninvasive vascular lab interpretation.

Dr. Soukas’ passion for helping patients is evident in his meticulous approach to patient care. His clinical research interests, which include carotid stenting and intravascular lithotripsy, highlight his commitment to advancing treatment options for cardiovascular diseases.

As a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials and a recipient of prestigious awards in the field, Dr. Soukas continues to push the boundaries of cardiovascular care.
