  • Adult tooth is loose. What should I do?

You should have the tooth looked at by a dentist immediately. If the tooth is very loose it will need to be splinted (a very easy procedure which involves temporarily bonding it to the teeth on both sides) to allow the surrounding bone to heal properly so that the tooth will become solid again. Otherwise, the bone will not heal correctly and you could lose the tooth. If the dentist finds that the tooth is only slightly loose, it will tighten on its own as long as the bite is not causing movement when you bite down. I am now retired and have sold my practice to Dr. Israelsen, an excellent dentist who would be glad to look at it for you if you are in the area. 520-458-2415 READ MORE
