Get to know Plastic Surgeon Dr. Gaurav Bharti, who serves patients in Charlotte and Huntersville, North Carolina.

Given the accolade as one the ‘Best Plastic Surgeons of America’, Dr. Bharti is the co-owner and partner at H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery in Charlotte and Huntersville, North Carolina. He performs a full range of cosmetic procedures under general and local anesthesia, including breast augmentation, breast lifts, breast reductions, mommy makeovers, breast revision surgery, body contouring, liposuction, tummy tucks, facial surgery, and vaginal rejuvenation surgery.

H/K/B Cosmetic Surgery represents surgeons who are counted among the most respected physicians in the country. They have created a practice that is sought after by patients across the globe, with specialties in many areas and contributing to over 1,000 surgeries and 3,000 procedures every year. Between them, they have more than 50 years of combined experience and remain up to date on the latest clinical advances in the field of cosmetic and plastic surgery.

In addition to being a co-owner and partner with the center, Dr. Bharti mentors medical students, residents, and fellows from the UNC Plastic Surgery Department and Wake Forest University. He also lectures at local, regional, national, and international plastic surgery meetings.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Southeastern Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Golden Key Honor Society, and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Moreover, he is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, whose mission is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Bharti graduated from medical school at East Tennessee State University – Quillen College of Medicine. Following completion of medical school, he and his family moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where he completed his residency in plastic surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He went on to become a Chief Resident in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, performing more than 5,000 procedures alongside world-renowned physicians.

After residency, Dr. Bharti held a position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at East Tennessee State University – Quillen College of Medicine, where he had a busy aesthetic & reconstructive practice. During that time, he mentored numerous medical students and surgical residents at the college. 

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories – reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. A plastic surgeon’s primary responsibility is performing surgical and non-surgical procedures, and they use a variety of reparative and reconstructive techniques to get the job done.

Providing the highest level of compassion and surgical expertise, Dr. Bharti has spoken at national, regional, and international avenues, presenting his research in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. In addition, he has been involved in medical missions to Chisinau, Moldova and Cochabamba, Bolivia.

An avid supporter of the American Cancer Society, the doctor has taken part in the Real Men Wear Pink Making Strides Campaign, has been an active participant in planning Hope Gala fundraising events with his wife, as well as has served as Chair of the Signature Chefs event for the March of Dimes organization.

For his compassionate and understanding manner with distinct attention to detail, Dr. Bharti has been awarded as a RealSelf Top 100 Social Influencer in cosmetic medicine and RealSelf Top 500 Social Influencer. He has also been recognized as Patient Choice Award winner.
