In practice since 1998, he works alongside Dr. Lynn Philippe at their private dental practice in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In the early days of his academic career, Dr. Dyess obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 1983. He then went on to serve his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at LSU-Charity Hospital of New Orleans in 1988.

Years later, in 1992, he earned board certification through the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which is the only certifying board for the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery in the United States.

With a focus on dental excellence, Dr. Dyess is a member of several professional dental organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, the Greater Baton Rouge Dental Association, the Louisiana Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association.

Alongside his role as a skilled dental professional in private practice, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry.
