As a seasoned Physiatrist and multi-trained Specialist, Dr. Gales is the Medical Director for the Disability department with the primary focus of evaluating Veterans with various disabilities, that resulted from a multitude of injuries or diseases they endured during their mission combat deployments, with the ultimate hopes of not only helping patients receive their service connected benefits; but to serve as the gateway of guidance to further needed Primary Care services, on their way of recuperating from injury or disease, to enjoy a higher quality of life. She is affiliated with Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, Washington.

Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center (MGSVAMC) is dedicated to providing quality health care services to those who have served in various Wars. In carrying out this mission, MGSVAMC focuses on providing primary and secondary care, with emphasis on preventive health and chronic disease management. It operates 22 beds and 32 nursing Rehabilitation beds, along with other specialty care services for our Veterans. 

Dr. Gales performs Disability Examinations inclusive of Traumatic Brain Injuries, various Musculoskeletal and Occupational & Environmental evaluations for Veterans and specializes in working with those who have endured different types of diseases and/or injuries during their deployment while serving in the Military.

Having been in practice for more than 20 years, Dr. Gales received her medical degree from Autonomous University of Chihuahua Faculty of Medicine in Mexico. She then went on to complete her Internship and first Residency in Internal Medicine at the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University at Harlem Hospital Medical Center in NY. This was followed by additional training in Occupational & Environmental Medicine at Harvard University at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. Subsequently, she also completed a Residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center again in NY.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also known as Physiatry, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities.
