Get to know Dentist Dr. Russell W. McCalley, who serves patients in San Diego, California.

Dr. McCalley is dedicated to providing the highest level of dental medicine along with friendly, compassionate service at his private practice in San Diego, California.

His comprehensive approach to dentistry has led him to be proficient in root canal treatment, Invisalign orthodontics, implant surgery, soft tissue laser treatment, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. 

Striving to improve the total patient experience, Dr. McCalley is among the first dentists in San Diego to implement CAD/CAM Cerec technology to provide one-visit crowns. By incorporating 3D imaging technology at his office, he is also able to design treatment for the placement of dental implants.

Scholastically, Dr. McCalley received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Arizona. He then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Southern California, after which he opened his dental practice in San Diego in 1988.

Extensive continuing education ensures Dr. McCalley is always current in the dental industry. His memberships and credentials include the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the San Diego County Dental Society, and an advanced functional esthetics graduate of the Las Vegas Institute (a hands-on learning institution focusing on optimal patient care to achieve the most natural looking results possible).

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

When Dr. McCalley is not in the office, one might be able to catch him around town performing with his all-dentist band, Novocaine. He also enjoys spending time with his two sons, Jack and Geoffrey, who have made him a very proud father.
