  • What foods to avoid when you have dentures?

Hello! Eating with dentures can be challenging. I advise patients to try a variety of foods when eating with dentures. The trick is to chew on both sides at the same time in order to keep equal pressure on the denture while chewing. This will allow you to eat most foods without the denture rocking back and forth. So, I challenge you to try all foods and see what works for your set of dentures. Sometimes, eating on the front teeth can be challenging. For example, if you try to bite an apple or corn on the cob, the denture may want to pop loose in the back and come loose. I would try these foods at home in order to see how it goes with your set of dentures. If the denture comes loose, these may be foods you have to cut up and chew on the sides. READ MORE

  • How long does it take to get dentures after teeth are pulled?

Hey, there are 2 different ways to go about getting dentures after your teeth are extracted. Option one is to get them pulled and wait for about 6-8 weeks for the areas of the extractions to heal, then have the dentures made. Most people dont want to wait that long, so there are immediate dentures. Immediate dentures are made before you get all your teeth out. Then at the extraction appointment, the dentures are put in right after the teeth have been taken out. This gives you teeth immediately! READ MORE

Hey...sorry your having tooth pain. If there is a cavity and your tooth is now hurting, that means the nerve in the tooth is now involved.
