Get to know Urologist Dr. Robert F. D’Esposito, who serves patients in Garden City, New York.

Dr. D’Esposito is a board-certified urologist who is affiliated with Urological Surgeons of Long Island in Garden City, New York. Urologic Surgeons of Long Island provides state-of-the-art surgical and non-surgical treatment of various diseases of the genito-urinary system affecting men and women. The team of professionals working there have always provided quality, compassionate care in the treatment of urologic disease, which has earned the practice their outstanding reputation.

 Dr. D’Esposito has enjoyed serving as a Clinical Associate Professor at Stony Brook University School of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York for over thirty years.

In 1971, Dr. D’Esposito earned his medical degree from the University of Padova in Padova, Italy. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his internship and residencies in surgery and urology at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York now known as NYU Winthrop.

Dr. D’Esposito is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and former Governor and Past President of the Brooklyn and Long Island Chapter. Dr. D’Esposito is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, and by working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to insure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care. Among other positions he has held, Dr. D’Esposito is past President of the Nassau County Medical Society and Nassau Academy of Medicine.

Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists, like Dr. D’Esposito, specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Patients may be referred to a urologist if their physician suspects they may need treatment for a condition relating to the bladder, urethra, ureters, kidneys, and adrenal glands.
