Get to know Neurologist, Dr. Valery N. Lipenko, who serves patients in Texas.

Dr. Lipenko is a board-certified neurologist who welcomes patients at his private practice, Neurology Specialists of North Texas, with office locations in Bedford and North Richard Hills, Texas. As a neurologist, his special interests include diagnosis and management of headaches, epileptic syndromes, and neuropathy. Dr. Lipenko maintains hospital privileges at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford in Bedford, Texas, as well as Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. Lipenko received his medical degree in 1992 at Odessa Medical University in Odessa, Ukraine, where he further completed a neurology residency. After relocating to the United States, he participated in neurophysiology research at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas before entering a neurology residency program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, which he completed in 2003. Furthermore, Dr. Lipenko’s extensive training covers cervical dystonia, botulinum toxin treatments, blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, and spasticity after stroke, as well as Botox® for chronic migraines and other pain syndromes. 

Upon the completion of his training, Dr. Lipenko obtained board certification in neurology from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation that was founded in 1934 as a method of identifying qualified specialists in psychiatry and neurology. The ABPN is one of 24 member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle.
