Dr. Coss is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with Spectrum Orthopaedics Inc in Massillon, Ohio, where he serves as partner, director, shareholder, compliance officer, and member of the executive committee. He is also a clinical associate professor with Ohio University Residence Program. Dr. Coss has expertise in orthopaedic sports medicine, total joint replacement, and orthopaedic surgery of the knee, shoulder, foot, and ankle. Dr. Coss is the team physician for Tuslaw High School, and consulting orthopaedic surgeon for the Malone University Pioneers. 

After earning his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1989, Dr. Coss served his internship at the Naval Medical Center in Oakland, California. He then went on to complete  his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Naval Regional Medical Center in San Diego, California.

Subsequent to his training, Dr. Coss attained board certification in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons. It is a member of the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Orthopaedic surgery or orthopaedics, is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, sports injuries, degenerative diseases and congenital disorders.

During his service in the United States Navy, Dr. Coss received numerous awards, including the Fleet Hospital Meritorious Service Medal and the Naval Commendation Medal for outstanding service while serving as Flight Surgeon Marine of the All-Weather Attack Squadron 224, the National Defense Service Medal for service during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm, and a Humanitarian Service Medal for service in Oakland during the San Francisco earthquake.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS), he is also a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Ohio State Medical Association, and the Stark County Medical Society. Outside his professional commitments, Dr. Coss enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He is an avid reader and loves hiking, golfing, and jogging.
