Atrium Laser Vein Center is a well-reputed vein treatment center located in Westchester County.  It includes six vein treatment centers in Westchester and the Hudson Valley region. All of the doctors are board-certified in vascular surgery, have been trained in minimally invasive procedures, and use individualized treatment plans to help patients achieve healthy and beautiful legs. 

On the faculty of New York Medical College, Dr. Mateo holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Surgery. 

Practicing medicine in the state of New York, he is affiliated with Putnam Hospital Center, Northern Westchester Hospital, and Phelps Memorial Hospital Center.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Mateo graduated with his medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 1988. He then went on to perform his residency in general surgery at Rhode Island Hospital in 1996, and his fellowship in vascular surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in 1998.

With a special interest and additional training in the field of endovascular surgery and in the minimally invasive treatment of vascular disease, he is board-certified in general surgery and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. 

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. Mateo is a member of the American Medical Association, American Medical Student Association, the Rhode Island Medical Society, the International Society for Endovascular Surgery, and the New York Society of Vascular Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
