Get to know Internist Dr. Peter Rosenberg, who serves patients in Bayside, New York.

With an amazing bedside manner, Dr. Rosenberg is a renowned primary care internist who is proud to serve the greater northeastern Queens County area and is an admitting physician at Northshore University Hospital.

In practice since 1979, he enjoys spending time with each patient to learn more about them. He also believes that great medicine depends on great communication.

North Shore University Hospital is a part of Northwell Health, New York State’s largest healthcare provider and private employer. It is a teaching hospital for the Donald & Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, offering residency programs, postgraduate training programs, and clinical fellowships.

Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Rosenberg graduated with his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in 1974. He then went on to perform his internship and residency and Chief residency in internal medicine at NYC Health + Hospitals Jacobi Medical Center, and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Montefiore Medical Center - Moses Division Hospital.

Following his training, he attained board certification in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Rosenberg is a member of the American College of Physicians.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

An authority in his field, Dr. Rosenberg has been recognized for his work with several awards, including Castle Connelly’s Top Doctor, On-Time Doctor Award (2015, 2016, 2018), Patients’ Choice Award (2018), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018).

In his free time, he takes in as much culture as he can through his favorite hobbies: reading, traveling, and seeing theater on Broadway.
