Treating adults, Dr. Mandybur is a board-certified neurosurgeon in Fort Myers, Florida. He currently serves as an attending physician at Gulf Coast Medical Center and Lee Memorial Hospital.

The doctor’s clinical interests include movement disorders (Parkinson’s disease, essential tremors, dystonias), epilepsy, trigeminal neuralgia, chronic pain syndromes amenable to surgical neuromodulation, brain tumors, spinal degenerative disease, and surgical pain management.

A 1990 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Mandybur went on to perform his internship at the said establishment. He then completed special training in movement disorders and surgical pain management at Loma Linda University Medical Center and the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Subsequent to his education, he attained board certification in neurological surgery through the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.

Over a period of 20 years, Dr. Mandybur has performed more than 1,000 surgeries for movement disorders (deep brain stimulation and pallidotomy). He also provides surgical treatments for people with chronic pain. 

Holding fellowship status, Dr. Mandybur is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (FAANS).
