  • How long does a pinched nerve in the neck last?

That is a tough one. Some will be for a day or two, and some can continue to cause problems for weeks. My rule of thumb is that if it is not improving over two days, it's best to have it checked in the office. Trent Stromme, D.C. READ MORE

Get to know Chiropractor Dr. Trent Stromme, who serves patients in Savage, Minnesota.

Dr. Stromme is a licensed chiropractor practicing alongside his sister, Dr. Danielle Stromme, at Spine & Sport Health in Savage, Minnesota.

The brother-sister duo offer family-oriented chiropractic care to patients of all ages. They both have a passion for using unique, individualized and cutting-edge care for their patients. They also provide supplemental and nutritional advice and ideas about how to increase the overall quality of health and wellness.

Spine and Sport Health is committed to creating a community of individuals, families, sport addicts or weekend warriors with a lifestyle of wellness and natural healing. The practice specializes in treating a variety of conditions such as chronic lower back and neck pain, sports injuries, pre/post natal care, pediatric and adolescent conditions and rehabilitation following an accident or injury.

With considerable experience in treating patients from hours old or well into their golden years, Dr. Stromme enjoys getting to know his patients on a personal level, connecting with them and helping them to obtain goals that meet their needs. Whether it’s completing a marathon or just being able to pick up a child or grandchild without pain, he is ready to tackle the challenge whole heartedly.

Growing up on a large, industrialized farm in Northeastern North Dakota, Dr. Stromme and his sister spent much of their time helping on the farm, staying active, and showing horses all over the United States. They both moved to the cities for Graduate School and fell in love with the upbeat and ever-changing lifestyle Minneapolis provides.

Introduced to chiropractic care early on, Dr. Stromme was involved in a study group of student athletes to document the athletic ability of those under chiropractic care and those that were not.  The differences were measurable and the way he felt while under care spurred him to pursue his career and help others achieve optimal health through natural healing.

A graduate of Northwestern Health Science University, he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2014. He also obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota.

With expertise and knowledge in injury diagnosis, practice management, and chronic and acute pain management, Dr. Stromme is certified in Injury Model Examination Protocol and Electronic Medical Injury Record System. He is also credentialed in Spine MRI and Accident Reconstruction, certified by the Ligament Injury Institute, and is a Certified Impairment Rating Attending Physician.

With Accident Works of America, Dr. Stromme is a member of a select group of chiropractic doctors expertly trained and certified in cervical ligament injuries, concussions and vertebral fractures. His aim is to help patients and plaintiff’s attorneys to better understand the mechanism of the forces that cause injury to the cervical spine and head during impact.

“Your health is my first concern and you’ve entrusted it to me after your accident. I take that seriously. When you’re involved in an accident, there is accompanying stress and anxiety over your injuries, your future prognosis and the implications that arise from insurance issues. I have trained in the medical-legal aspects of trauma medicine and will treat you and your injuries with the highest care possible and process your case according to the highest standards so be confident that you are in caring hands and thank you for trusting me” expressed the doctor.

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that mainly deals with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, including neck pain, back pain, headaches, vertigo and a long list of other ailments and conditions. They aim to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life by properly aligning the body’s musculoskeletal structure and enabling the body to heal itself naturally, without the use of medication or surgery.

On a more personal note, Dr. Stromme is very active in showing and raising paint horses. He has served as President of the Minnesota Paint Horse Association and was most recently a World Champion in Western Pleasure with his mare “Pippa” in 2014. He also enjoys staying active outside and dabbling in DIY projects.
