Recognized as a caring and compassionate hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Modiano is a distinguished medical oncologist and hematologist renowned for his expertise in treating breast, lung, and gastrointestinal malignancies. As Medical Director of Arizona Clinical Research Center, he continues to lead groundbreaking research initiatives aimed at advancing cancer treatment and improving patient outcomes.

Academically, the doctor’s journey in medicine began at Colegio Columbia in Mexico City, followed by medical school at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. He completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin – Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he also pursued fellowships in Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Arizona Cancer Center.

With a strong commitment to advancing cancer care, Dr. Modiano has held various leadership roles, including Director of the Gastro-Intestinal Oncology Program and the minority cancer control program at the University of Arizona. His dedication to improving patient outcomes is further evidenced by his tenure as Director of Research and his past roles as Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology and President of Medical Staff at Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital.

Appointed as a commissioner to the Arizona Biomedical Research Commission by Governor Napolitano, he has been instrumental in advancing biomedical research initiatives in the state. His tireless advocacy for cancer research and community service has earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Surgeon General Certificate of Merit.

Holding membership status, Dr. Modiano is a proud member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Texas Association of Community Oncology (TACOS).
