Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Dennis H. Birenbaum, “Dr. B,” graduated from Hillcrest High School and Southern Methodist University. He completed his medical school training at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and the University of Michigan. He completed an internal medicine internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, an internal medicine residency at Tulane University Medical Center/Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, and a three-year hematology/oncology fellowship at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute. He was a clinical professor at M.D. Anderson for two years before moving to Dallas/Fort Worth to begin a hematology/oncology practice.

Through the years, Dr. B built three freestanding, all-inclusive cancer centers where patients can receive comprehensive medical visits, laboratory testing, radiology, radiation therapy, and infusion therapy. Throughout his medical career, Dr. B always has maintained a “patient first” philosophy — giving patients his personal cell phone number to call with questions or problems any time, day or night. He reassures his patients that he is always available for them and does not want patients to wait until Monday to tell him of a problem they had on Friday.

Dr. B is the proud father of two sons and six dogs. A collector of art, antiques, and sports memorabilia, he’s an avid sports fan and golf enthusiast who enjoys traveling. For more than four decades, Dr. Birenbaum has dedicated his life to treating every patient as if they are a member of his own family.
