A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Dr. Goodwin attended the Virginia Commonwealth University School Of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia and received her medical degree in 2010. She then pursued both her internship (2010-2011), as well as her obstetrics and gynecology residency (2011-2014) at James Quillen College of Medicine and East Tennessee State University in Mountain Home, Tennessee. 

Dr. Goodwin received her board-certification in obstetrics and gynecology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
