Dr. Gray is an experienced, fellowship-trained cardiologist in practice since 1973. He can be found on staff at IU Health Ball Memorial Physicians Cardiology – Outpatient Medical Pavilion in Muncie, Indiana. 

Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in the city of Muncie. It was founded by the Ball Brothers, hence the name, Ball Memorial Hospital. It is near the campus of Ball State University; however, it is affiliated with the Indiana University School of Medicine. The mission of the hospital is to improve the health of patients and community through innovation, and excellence in care, education, research, and service.

After earning his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1966, Dr. Gray went on to complete his internship at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He performed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Following the completion of his training, he served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Cardiology on the full-time faculty at the said establishment.

In 1973, Dr. Gray returned to his hometown, Muncie, Indiana, to enter into a multi specialty private practice.  He continues in this practice today, 48 years later.  During his years of service,  he developed and implemented the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program for IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in 1976.   In 1977 Dr. Gray organized the ACLS program for the State of Indiana.   In 1985, Dr. Gray developed and started the Coronary Interventional Program for IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Currently Dr. Gray is Medical Director of Cardiovascular Quality Management, Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and Medical Director of the Heart Failure Program.

In 2019, Dr. Gray received the Physician Leadership Award for IU Health Systems, the largest health system in the State of Indiana.

Specializing in interventional cardiology, Dr. Gray is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
