Get to know Pulmonologist and Critical Care Physician Dr. Raciel Pintado, who serves patients in Hollywood, Florida.

Holding over three decades of experience, Dr. Pintado is a fellowship-trained pulmonologist and critical care physician who follows evidence-based guidelines to deliver the highest level of care.

Immediately available to respond to critically ill patients, he is on staff at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. His other hospital affiliations include Memorial Hospital Miramar, Memorial Hospital Pembroke, and Memorial Hospital West.

In Cuba, Dr. Pintado earned his Medical Degree from the Facultad De Ciencias Medicas Pinar Del Rio/University of Havana. He then relocated to the United States, completing his internship,  residency, and fellowship at LSUHSC University Medical Center in Lafayette.

Triple board certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine, Dr. Pintado is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Pintado is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Physicians, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Pulmonology is a medical specialty that deals with diseases involving the respiratory tract. A pulmonologist is an internal medicine physician who specializes in preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions and diseases that affect the lungs, bronchial tubes, and the respiratory system (including the nose, pharynx, and throat).

Intensive care medicine, or critical care medicine, is a branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and management of life-threatening conditions that may require sophisticated life support and intensive monitoring. A critical care physician treats patients who have any medical or surgical illness or operation that requires critical care support – generally life-threatening major illnesses or operations where high-level life support is required.
