Passionate about women’s health and a strong advocate for women to take control of their reproductive health and be proactive about when and how they grow their families, Dr. Shastri works with patients at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey, leading their Somerset and Springfield offices.

Since 1999, Reproductive Medicine Associates New Jersey has been the leader in assisted reproductive technology and helped bring 40,000 babies to loving families across the United States and countries abroad. Its comprehensive patient-centered care and fertility breakthroughs result in highly recognized IVF delivery rates in the United States and around the world.

With extensive experience in the field of in vitro fertilization, Dr. Shastri has a particular interest and expertise in genetic disorders, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, diminished ovarian reserve, fertility preservation and egg freezing.

She understands that times have changed and women are planning to start their families at varying time frames. Fortunately, medical technology and the opportunities for women to preserve their fertility through treatments such as egg freezing have also advanced. She believes in empowering women to make the right family planning decisions for them and expanding the opportunities available to help develop a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Shastri holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. 

Locally, she is affiliated with Short Hills Surgery Center, JFK Medical Center, Morristown Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Overlook Medical Center, and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.

Regarding her educational background, Dr. Shastri holds a Master’s degree in Physiology from Georgetown University and earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She then went on to complete both her residency and fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and at the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility.

A member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the doctor is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology/infertility & obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ABOG). The ABOG is a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.

Reproductive endocrinology and infertility is a surgical subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that trains physicians in reproductive medicine addressing hormonal functioning as it pertains to reproduction as well as the issue of infertility.

With almost 20 years of experience in the field, Dr. Shastri has been a recipient of many awards and accolades, including Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015), Patients’ Choice Award (2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2018).

A native of New Jersey who moved back to the area with her family three years ago, Dr. Shastri enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children. She understands her patients innate desire to start or complete their family. “Being a mom allows me to be compassionate and empathetic to those couples and individuals looking to become parents.”
