Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Wendy J. Masterman, who serves patients in Lutz, Florida.

Dr. Masterman is a board-certified pediatrician who is currently serving patients at her private practice – Sandhill Pediatrics – in Lutz, Florida. “We pride ourselves on providing compassionate, comprehensive services to children from birth through adolescence, and we’re glad you’ve chosen us as your child’s medical home” as stated by the practice’s website. From routine checkups to immunizations, Sandhill Pediatrics is equipped to handle all aspects of a child’s health needs. 

Dr. Masterman grew up in Nebraska and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Creighton University. She then went on to earn her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine before pursuing her residency in pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. 

Dr. Masterman is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The ABP is an independent, nonprofit organization whose certificate is recognized throughout the world as a credential signifying a high level of physician competence. Additionally, Dr. Masterman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also a member of the American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association. 

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. As a pediatrician, Dr. Masterman examines, diagnoses, and treats children of all ages with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses. She understands that children change rapidly and they must be approached with an appreciation for their stage of physical and mental development. Dr. Masterman prides herself on being down to earth by communicating openly and honestly with her patients and their families.

Dr. Masterman received Hulafrog’s ‘Most Loved Pediatrician’ award in 2019. Dr. Masterman lived in Nebraska, Minnesota, St. Maarten, and New York before deciding on Florida for her home. She has been married to her husband since 2006. They have 3 children and 3 cats.  In her spare time, Dr. Masterman is on the hamster wheel of after school activities and birthday parties, but she does enjoy reading, going on family trips to the zoo, and biking with her children.
