Is it normal to see spots after cataract surgery?
Seeing spots could be due to more than one cause. Floating or moving black to opaque spots, " floaters" can become more visible after cataract surgery because the cloudy cataract has been removed and is no longer blurring or decreasing the amount of light entering the eye and visual axis. The floaters are areas of the vitreous that have separated from the retina and are now visible when in normal to bright lighting. Floaters are usually not associated with sight threatening problems and are mostly a nuisance. READ MORE

Does vision get worse after Lasik?
The majority of people that have Lasik surgery have better vision after Lasik without needing glasses or contact lenses. Lasik does not correct your vision better than you could see with the best correction that glasses or contacts provided. However if complications occurred during or after Lasik, your vision may be less clear than with glasses or contact lenses prior to Lasik. READ MORE

Can you go blind from astigmatism?
Astigmatism is one of the 3-4 refractive errors that are usually correctable with glasses, contact lenses and / or refractive surgical procedures. The others are myopia or nearsighted, hyperopia or farsighted. Presbyopia is the over 39 syndrome that causes older people to need glasses to see close or to read. Astigmatism will NOT make you go blind and neither will any of the others listed above. READ MORE

Problems With My Eyes
Without a thorough eye exam including how nearsighted/myopic you are, most phthalmologist would not render a definitive diagnosis for you. The black spots and strings are suggestive of vitreous floaters, which are more common in near-sighted young adults than other young adults. You should set up an appointment with an eyecare specialist for a complete eye exam with pupil dilation. READ MORE

High or elevated eye pressure (intraocular pressure(IOP) is not uncommon after cataract surgery. However, it is usually transient and can be treated successfully within the first few days to weeks. If your vision is good with correction if needed or without correction, the main problem with prolonged screen time is fatigue. It is important to take breaks. Why is my vision blurry with cataracts?
The crystalline lens in each eye is the main focusing part of the eye. As we age the lens gets cloudy which makes things we focus on less clear. Compare this to visibility through a clean windshield versus a mud smeared windshield. READ MORE

Why is LASIK performed awake?
The main reason Lasik is done with the patient awake is because the patient is asked to focus on lights and look in different directions to make the procedure successful. Also, the Lasik procedure usually requires about 10+ minutes to complete each eye, general anesthesia is associated with increased risks and costs, and topical numbing drops plus oral anti-anxiety medications are sufficient for this remarkably pain-free Lasik surgery. Which eye drop is best for cataracts?
I am not sure what you mean by "best for cataracts". There aren't any drops that treat, reduce the effects of, or remove cataracts. Surgical removal is how cataracts are treated once they cause significant vision loss that can't be improved significantly with glasses/contact lenses. READ MORE
Is Lasik better than glasses?
I don't know what you mean by better. If you mean clearer vision without having to wear glasses or contact lenses, then the vision after Lasik is better than your vision without glasses. There are limits to how much nearsighted, farsighted, and or astigmatism can be corrected with Lasik. READ MORE
