Get to know Family Physician Dr. Isaac Aaron Watemberg, who serves patients in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. Watemberg is a board-certified family physician who is affiliated with Texas Health Care, which is a multi-specialty physician group practice, equally owned by its physician members and governed by physicians, for physicians. Each physician is a member and equal owner of the company, which is taxed like a partnership (with a single taxpayer identification). 

Dr. Watemberg is also affiliated with Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center offers everything from basic patient care to highly specialized treatments in areas like heart and vascular, cancer, neuroscience, and urology. At the Center, Dr. Watemberg serves all patients by providing personalized health and wellness through exemplary care, education, and research.

Dr. Watemberg earned his medical degree from Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. He then went on to complete his residency and internship at the Metrohealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

In the time between earning his medical degree and completing his residency, Dr. Watemberg worked as a rotating intern at the Social Security Hospital in his hometown in Colombia, then as a rural physician at the Melamed Medical Center in Malambo, Colombia. After relocating to the United States, he worked as a research assistant in the Liver Transplant Program at Baylor University Medical Center. 

During his childhood in Colombia, Dr. Watemberg experienced firsthand being treated by a general physician and was inspired to become a family physician. “Taking care of the family as a whole allows me to understand the dynamic of the illness; seeing the newborns become teenagers, taking care of adults with chronic conditions, and being a part of the decision with the elder patients when the time comes for decisions about home care or nursing home placement,” said Dr. Watemberg. 

Dr. Watemberg is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). Founded in 1969, the ABFM is a not-for-profit, private organization whose mission is to improve the health of the public through board certification, residency training, research, leadership development, and promoting the development of the specialty of family medicine.

Dr. Watemberg is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Tarrant County Medical Society, and the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. 

Family medicine, formerly family practice, is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. Family physicians, like Dr. Watemberg, are often the first person whom a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility. Dr. Watemberg prides himself on being a good listener and answering all of his patients’ questions. Furthermore, he values his experience in treating underserved populations, which has exposed him to health care issues that require complex and challenging solutions. 

In his spare time, Dr. Watemberg enjoys spending time with his wife, who is a real estate agent, and his five children. He likes traveling, photography, and computers. In addition to English, Dr. Watemberg speaks Spanish.
