Helping to train the future healthcare leaders of Texas and beyond, Dr. McLeod has served in either associate or full-time core faculty roles for such institutions as UTMB, Baylor College of Medicine, and the Texas A & M College of Medicine.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

Among Dr. McLeod’s various accolades include 2023 Rising Star Award, Crockett Chamber of Commerce; 2014 Health Heroes Award, Texas Medical Association; and 2006 Business of the Year, Cuero Chamber of Commerce. He is also proud to have won a National Research Contest with a presentation of research on Diabetes Care, and to have been recognized with the first ever Health Heroes Award from the Texas Medical Association.

Degrees and accolades aside, Dr. McLeod is most honored by the trust of his patients over the years, many of whom he considers to be friends first. He is excited to be living now in the peaceful pineywoods of East Texas with the opportunity to meet and serve new and old patients alike, both locally and across Texas through virtual care.

HealthCARE has changed a lot over 20+ years; but the CARE in healthCARE still remains most important to Dr. McLeod.
