Get to know Physiatrist Dr. Thomas S. Mathew, who serves patients in New York, New York.

Dr. Mathew is an experienced physiatrist with DHD Medical PC. He can also be found on staff at Waterbury Hospital and Saint Mary’s Hospital.

DHD Medical PC provides treatments for a variety of conditions, including neck & back pain, disc herniation, work related injuries, sciatic nerve pain, muscle/joint strains/sprains, car accident injuries, and sports related injuries

Back in 2002, Dr. Mathew graduated with his medical degree from the Union University Albany Medical College.

Subsequent to his education, the doctor is board-certified in physical medicine & rehabilitation through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR). The mission of the ABPMR is to serve the public by improving the quality of patient care in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). This is accomplished through a process of certification and maintenance of certification that fosters excellence and encourages continuous learning.

Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Physiatrists treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.
