Get to know Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Jayson A. Kirchhofer, who serves patients in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Kirchhofer is a board-certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon who is a part of the team of professionals at Desert Ridge Oral Surgery Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.

With high quality patient care at the core of what he does, he has performed numerous procedures on young patients and adults that require general anesthesia and sedation.

Born and raised in Oregon, Dr. Kirchhofer received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in 2015. He then attended a 6-year residency program in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville and Shands Hospital.

There, he received comprehensive training in treating children and adults with complex medical histories and maxillofacial congenital and acquired deformities. 

Board-certified, Dr. Kirchhofer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS). As the certifying body in oral and maxillofacial surgery, the ABOMS provides contemporary and innovative programs that promote optimal care and service to the public.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is a surgical specialty focusing on reconstructive surgery of the face, facial trauma surgery, the oral cavity, head and neck, mouth, and jaws, as well as facial cosmetic surgery/facial plastic surgery, including cleft lip and cleft palate surgery. An oral and maxillofacial surgeon is a regional specialist surgeon who treats the entire craniomaxillofacial complex: anatomical area of the mouth, jaws, face, and skull, head and neck as well as associated structures. Depending upon the national jurisdiction, oral and maxillofacial surgery may require a degree in medicine, dentistry or both.

In his free time, Dr. Kirchhofer enjoys spending time with his wife, Katelyn, who is a member of  Ballet Arizona in Phoenix, and her family. He also enjoys going to the gym, playing golf, and supporting the Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Suns.
