His journey in medicine continued as he earned his Medical Degree from the Ohio State College of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern and a fellowship in allergy and immunology at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Lichtenberger’s commitment to advancing the field of allergy and immunology is evident through his involvement in translational research at the Laboratory of Allergic Disease at the NIH. During his time there, he developed teaching protocols for anaphylaxis and served as an immunology consultant for the Undiagnosed Disease Program. His expertise has been shared through lectures at Grand Rounds, covering topics such as mast cell involvement in lung disease and eosinophilia in acutely ill patients.
