Bringing Extensive Training and Dedication to Allergy and Immunology to Piedmont HealthCare 

Dr. Frank Lichtenberger, MD, a highly skilled allergist-immunologist, has joined the team at Piedmont HealthCare to provide exceptional care to patients in Statesville and Mooresville, North Carolina. With a focus on allergies, asthma, and immune deficiencies, he offers a wide range of services including allergy testing, immunotherapy, clinical trials, pulmonary function tests, and smoking cessation counseling.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Lichtenberger pursued his education with dedication and passion. He obtained his Undergraduate Degree from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, and went on to complete his Graduate Degree in the Immunology of Chronic Inflammation at Ohio State. His journey in medicine continued as he earned his Medical Degree from the Ohio State College of Medicine, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern and a fellowship in allergy and immunology at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Dr. Lichtenberger’s commitment to advancing the field of allergy and immunology is evident through his involvement in translational research at the Laboratory of Allergic Disease at the NIH. During his time there, he developed teaching protocols for anaphylaxis and served as an immunology consultant for the Undiagnosed Disease Program. His expertise has been shared through lectures at Grand Rounds, covering topics such as mast cell involvement in lung disease and eosinophilia in acutely ill patients.

As a distinguished member of the American Association of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) Mast Cell Disorders committee, Dr. Lichtenberger upholds the highest standards of care in his practice. He is board certified in allergy and immunology by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, as well as in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Lichtenberger finds joy in cooking, traveling, swimming, and cherishing moments with his wife and daughter. His well-rounded approach to life and medicine reflects his compassionate nature and dedication to the well-being of his patients.
