Get to know Dentist Dr. Margaret Allen, who serves patients in Texas.

Honored as one of ‘The Top 30 Women’ in the field of dentistry, Dr. Allen sees patients at her private dental practice – Amazing Smiles, PLLC – with offices in Sugar Land and Houston, Texas. Focusing on patients’ comfort and oral health, she strives to make sure that every patient treated feels like family, knowing that they are receiving the best possible care. Her motto is, “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.”

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Allen earned her degree in dental hygiene from the University of Texas Health Science Center, followed by her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. in 1995. Wanting to further her training, she completed courses on non-extraction orthodontics, practical implant dentistry and ridge preservation, braces, and implant technology.

To advance her professional efforts, she remains a member of several professional organizations, including the Texas Dental Association, the Orthodontic Dental Society, and the Women’s Dental Association. She also holds board certification through the Western Regional Examination Board.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

Enjoying giving back both locally and internationally, Dr. Allen has been on several mission trips to Africa, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. She provides dental treatment for women, men, and children in these poor countries. She also donates supplies for the mission trip when she is not able to go.

When she is not practicing dentistry, one might find her shopping, dining out or just relaxing, spending quality time with her family.
