Silvia Perez-Protto, MD, MS is an Anesthesiologist-Critical Care physician originally from Uruguay, South America. She worked as an intensivist transplant coordinator in Uruguay, conducting more than 100 organ donation interviews and organ donor management. 

Currently she practices at the Cleveland Clinic Surgical Intensive Care Unit. She is also the director of the Center for End of Life care at the Office of Patient Experience. The center is aimed to standardize the Advance Care Planning and End of Life care with the specific objectives to respect patients’ preferences, improve family experience and foster caregiver resilience. She is the co-author of Death Over Dinner - Healthcare Edition. She is also faculty at the Center for Excellence in Healthcare Communication teaching communication skills to physicians and middle care providers. 

She is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine and the president of the Ohio Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine.
