Get to know Pediatric Nephrologist Dr. Ahmad A. Khiami, who serves patients in Beckley, West Virginia.

Dr. Khiami is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric nephrologist at Kid Care in Beckley, West Virginia.

Having been in practice for over 35 years, he is affiliated with multiple hospitals in his local area, including Raleigh General Hospital and Beckley ARH Hospital.

Upon graduating with his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of Damascus University in 1986, Dr. Khiami relocated to the United States. Once there, he served his residency in pediatrics at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and his fellowship in pediatric nephrology at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatric nephrology involves the diagnosis and treatment of patients with kidney and urinary diseases. Pediatric nephrologists diagnose, treat, and manage many disorders affecting the kidney and urinary tract including kidney failure, high blood pressure, inherited kidney diseases, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, and abnormalities in the urine such as blood and protein. 

On a more personal note, Dr. Khiami speaks both English and Arabic.
