Maitland DeLand, M. D. is a radiation oncologist who specializes in treating women’s and children’s cancers. She has dealt with her own children’s illnesses including Type 1 Diabetes, Epilepsy and Asthma. As a result of her personal and professional experiences she realized there was a need for simple, comforting, yet informative child and family friendly books dealing with serious childhood illnesses.
