As a respected member of the dental community, Dr. Chenet has been named one of Pittsburgh Magazine’s top dentists by her peers. She is the President & Owner of Sleep Apnea Dental Center with three offices throughout Pennsylvania – Moon Township, Pittsburgh, and Cranberry Township.
With extensive education in orthodontics, invisalign, dental sleep medicine, cosmetics, and implants, Dr. Chenet has always attempted to maintain treatment options that are conservative in nature with beautiful results. Her unique blend of orthodontic correction and sleep apnea options allows the patient to make an educated decision on what is best for their individual needs.
She is a participating medical provider in Aetna, Cigna, Health America/Coventry, Highmark, Medicare, TriCare, and UPMC, and works alongside Dr. Paige Murrer, DMD.
In regards to her educational background, Dr. Chenet earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 2000. She then went on to further her training with a mini-residency in contemporary dental esthetics at the University of Rochester from January until April of 2001.
In May of 2001, she began her practice in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since then, she has aggressively pursued postgraduate education in taking over 1800 hours of continuing education (and counting) in order to provide the best technological and clinical skills for her patients.
Staying abreast of the latest trends in dentistry, Dr. Chenet is an active member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Since 2015, her practice is limited to the treatment of patients with snoring and sleep apnea. She has the honor of being the Dental Sleep Medicine provider for Allegheny Health Network, Center for Sleep Medicine.
Due to her dedication to the study of dental sleep medicine, Dr. Chenet is able to provide patients with a CPAP alternative that can be worn in their mouth. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, which is the highest level of education that can be achieved in this field. She also holds an Advanced TAP-PAP certification.
As for her academic appointments, she serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Dr. Chenet is not only recognized for her expertise in the field of dental sleep medicine in the Greater Pittsburgh Area but nationally as well. She is the first DSM provider to publish a chapter dedicated to oral appliance therapy in K.J.Lee’s Essential Otolaryngology, and is featured in industry publications and podcasts.
Also, she is a lecturer in local and national conferences and seminars, including the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine annual meeting, the North American Dental Sleep Symposium, the Pennsylvania State Sleep Society, the West Virginia State Sleep Society, the University of California SF Dental Sleep Meeting, as well as UPMC and AHN Sleep meetings.
Happily married, Dr. Chenet and her husband, J. Robert Chenet, OD are blessed to have three children and feel very fortunate that they are able to practice and raise their family in their native Pittsburgh area.
