Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Jatinder Bhangoo, who serves patients in Poughkeepsie, New York.

With over two decades of experience, Dr. Bhangoo is a board-certified anesthesiologist at MidHudson Regional Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Locally, he is affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital, Westchester Medical Center, Northern Westchester Hospital, and Saint Francis Hospital The Turning Point Treatment Center.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Bhangoo graduated with his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University in 1997. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2002. 

Furthering his training, he performed his internship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in 2003, and his residency in anesthesiology at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2006. 

Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in anesthesiology through the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.
