Specializing in pain management with high attention to detail and dedication, Dr. Carle is the Founder of The Carle Center for Anti-Aging & Restorative Medicine in Towson, Maryland. In practice since 1990, he has over 30 years of experience in helping patients relieve pain and/or reduce the suffering of chronic pain.
Prior to his current endeavours, Dr. Carle worked in the Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine Departments at Saint Joseph Medical Center in Towson for a period of 13 years. In 2003, he opened The Carle Center for Anti-Aging & Restorative Medicine with the mission “Treating the whole person, not just the pain.” He sees patients for a range of pain issues such as arthritic joint pain, neck pain, back pain, sciatica, diabetic neuropathy, and sports injuries.
The doctor practices state-of-the-art MLS laser therapy, as well as established pain management procedures including epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, joint injections, and radio frequency ablations. He strives to help each patient feel their best as a whole, eliminating the source of pain when possible or helping each patient manage their chronic pain so the pain has as little impact on their lives as possible. He also performs consultations at The Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where he is on the medical staff.
In regards to his educational background, Dr. Carle earned his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Following residency, he was appointed to the staff of the medical school and helped start the pain medicine fellowship at the University of Virginia Medical Center. In 1990, he moved his practice to Towson.
Among his professional affiliations, Dr. Carle is a member of the American Academy of Pain Management, the American Medical Association, the American Headache Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
Furthermore, he is board-certified in pain medicine by the American Board of Pain Medicine, as well as board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. The mission of the American Board of Pain Medicine is to improve the quality of pain medicine, while the mission of the American Board of Anesthesiology is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.
