He serves as the Chief of Rheumatology at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. 

Hartford Hospital is an 819-bed acute care teaching hospital that was established in 1854. The hospital campus is located on Seymour Street in Hartford, and is directly adjacent to the main campus of the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Its mission is to improve the health and healing of the people and communities they serve.

After earning his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Dr. Scola went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 1993. This was followed by a fellowship in rheumatology at the Boston University School of Medicine. 

In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, the doctor is board-certified in rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Throughout his extensive 30-year career, Dr. Scola has been the recipient of several awards and recognitions, including the On-Time Doctor Award in 2018, the Patients’ Choice Award from 2015 to 2018, and Compassionate Doctor Recognition from 2014 to 2018.
