If you have taken good care of your teeth and gums during the braces treatment there should be no issues about gum healing. If you have not and the gums are inflamed it can take a week or more after a professional cleaning. The use of Peridex can be very helpful. READ MORE

What kind of baking soda do you use for your teeth?

Can root planing loosen teeth?
NO....but if you have a lot of calculus/tartar connecting the lower anterior teeth, this will act as a splint and when the tartar is removed ( the splinting removed) the teeth may now demonstrate mobility that was not evident before. READ MORE

What's the difference between composite veneers and porcelain?
The difference is that over time the composite veneer will lose some of its surface shine, is more likely to stain or discolor over time, and is also more prone to chipping. The composite veneer is also about 1/3 the fee of Porcelain. READ MORE

Yes, if he/she is not careful enough or sometimes the patient moves abruptly and it's not the doctor's fault. READ MORE
What goes on top of an implant?
Most of the time a part called an abutment is first connected to the implant with a screw and then a crown is cemented over that abutment part. There are many factors that determine how long the cement will hold. The design of the tooth under the crown plays a very big part in longevity. The bite plays a role also. All things being at their best the cement should hold a crown for 20+ years. READ MORE

What is the best permanent dental cement?
There are many very fine "permanent" cements. The most widely used these days are called Resin Modified Glass Ionomer or full Resin cements. There is not best among these choices. READ MORE

Rosenstein, DMD, Judith L. Gartner, DMD, MMSc, and Gabriela Cohen, DMD, are dedicated to providing the best possible dental care with state-of-the-art equipment and sterilization technologies. Born in Albany, New York in 1950, Dr. Rosenstein was blessed with a warm and loving family life in his youth and it certainly impacted on his adult years. He attended Colgate University before moving on to The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and graduating with his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree. After completing a General Practice Residency in the United States Public Health Service, he returned to Philadelphia to begin his private practice career.
After 21 years, he decided to move to Florida and has been practicing there since 1998. His work history includes serving as a clinical instructor half a day per week at the UF Hialeah clinic, and as a clinical instructor half a day per week at Mount Sinai Hospital GPR program (for 3 years until the program closed).
Among Dr. Rosenstein’s professional affiliations include Board member of the Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale South since 2015, Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, member of the American Dental Association, member of the Academy of Osseointegration, and on the Board of Advisors for The Pankey Institute.
His various certifications include: Certificate for Human Participants Protection Education for Research Teams, National Cancer Institute, June 2009 & Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act & Privacy General Awareness for Researchers, University of Florida, June 2009.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
While Dr. Rosenstein’s accomplishments in dentistry are a source of pride and fulfillment for him, his greatest joys come from his wife of 40 years and his wonderful children. Both his children developed his love of learning and have achieved at a very high level academically.
Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, reading, and listening to music of all kinds. He and his wife enjoy art festivals, movies, live plays, and the ballet.
