His journey in the field of medicine commenced in 1994 when he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Building on this foundation, Dr. Zalla undertook a rigorous residency in family medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine, dedicating himself from 1995 to 1997 to hone his skills and clinical acumen.

Board certified in family medicine, he holds the esteemed title of Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP). The AOBFP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.
