An exceptional interventional cardiologist, Dr. Kapur is affiliated with Mount Sinai, working with patients at The Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai, Jackson Heights, Mount Sinai, Morningside, and The Brooklyn Hospital Center. He remains committed to the field of cardiology and has an unrelenting dedication towards being an outstanding clinician, researcher and teacher.

Academically, he started his medical journey by completing his medical school from the University College of Medical Sciences, one of the top ranked medical schools in Delhi, India. He excelled during his medical education and was constantly ranked in the top 5% of his class.

Deciding to continue his medical career in the United States, Dr. Kapur completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where he was duly recognized for his skill and was nominated to Startmore’s Whos Who for his outstanding performance in the field of medicine. Based on his meritorious record during his residency, he was selected as the Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at Bridgeport Hospital/Yale University.

Determined to be a cardiologist, he joined the Methodist DeBakey Heart Center in Houston, Texas, where he was trained under world renowned cardiologists. His hardwork and commitment during his fellowship training were recognized and appreciated, and he was awarded the prestigious H. Liston Beazley MD Student Clinician of the Year Award. 

Subsequently, Dr. Kapur completed an additional fellowship in interventional cardiology at one of the world renowned ivy league academic centers – Columbia University Medical Center – under Drs. Martin Leon and Greg Stone, followed by an extra year of dedicated training in peripheral / endovascular intervention at the same educational venue.

Licensed to practice medicine in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Texas, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, vascular medicine, endovascular medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He is also certified in adult comprehensive echocardiography and through American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

A Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), he is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI).

Academically involved in the field, Dr. Kapur serves as an Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. He has published numerous research articles in peer reviewed renowned medical journals, written book chapters, and presented abstracts, posters and oral presentations and various local, national and international conferences. He has also been a co-investigator in many clinical trials.

The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
