Get to know Hospitalist Dr. Teresa Lyson, who serves patients in Austin, Texas.

A top professional in the field of hospital medicine, Dr. Lyson provides care through Hospitalist Concepts Consulting, LLC in Austin, Texas.

Locally, she is affiliated with The Hospital at Westlake Medical Center, St. David’s Medical Center, Cornerstone Hospital of Central Texas, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Lakeway, Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas, Dell Children’s Medical Center, Seton Medical Center Austin, Seton Medical Center Hays, Seton Northwest Hospital, and Seton Southwest Hospital.

Back in 1980, Dr. Lyson graduated with her medical degree from the Medical University of Lodz in Poland. She then went on to perform her internship at Central Texas Medical Foundation, her residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and her fellowships at The University of Texas at Austin and UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Following her training, she attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hospital medicine is a medical specialty that exists in some countries as a branch of internal or family medicine, dealing with the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Physicians whose primary professional focus is caring for hospitalized patients only while they are in the hospital are called hospitalists.

On a more personal note, Dr. Lyson is fluent in both English and Polish.
