  • How can I brush my teeth with implants?

Brush just like you normally do. That is the beauty of implants, they are maintained by brushing and flossing like normal teeth. READ MORE

  • Can you replace all molar teeth with implants?

You can, yes. Please see an Oral surgeon and trained dentist to restore the implants. It is a very nice procedure and amazing if done by good professionals. I would stay away from clinics or chain dentistry clinics, due to high turnover and the sales tactic they use.  READ MORE

  • Can I use mouthwash after a root canal?

Yes you can, no problem. I usually recommend a mouthwash with fluoride in it for all my clients.  READ MORE

  • What helps sore gums from partial dentures?

I always recommend salt water rinses, 1 teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces of warm water. Swish and spit out. It will help heal the area up. You can try Anbesol or baby numbing tooth gel from the store too. Go back to the office that made the partial and see about adjusting the partial as well. Hope that helps. READ MORE

  • What causes gums pain?

Yes you should see a dentist. Before then, brush your teeth everyday 2-3 times a day. You can also use a mouthrinse and floss once a day.  If you can set up an appointment to get your teeth evaluated and cleaned. READ MORE

  • How long is the treatment for Invisalign?

Invisalign treatment time varies on each persons needs. There is not a way to tell until seen in person and how treatment and compliance with treatment goes. READ MORE

  • How long will gums hurt from flossing?

It depends on the health of the gums. Use warm salt water rinses, 1 tsp of salt in 8 ounces of warm water, swish, and spit. If you are new to flossing or not brushing regularly it will take you longer to heal. Keep flossing 1 time a day and brushing 2-3 times a day, it pays off!!  See your dental office twice a year too, it is maintenance to protect what you have!  READ MORE

  • How do you fix receding gums from one tooth?

The fix is tough to answer without clinically seeing the causation of the recession. It can be a multifactorial cause, so I highly recommend that you see your dentist asap. They may recommend an evaluation by a periodontist who may elect to treat via a gum graft, addition of bone, or other methods. Excellent question that needs to be addressed clinically. Way to be observant, now seek out professional help!! READ MORE

  • Do I need to rest after tooth extraction?

Yes, we recommend doing no heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for at least 2-3 days post-extraction.  Please ask the Oral surgeon to remove your tooth prior to getting it done.  READ MORE

  • Which toothpaste is best for cavity protection?

Honestly, the one you will use 3 times a day brushing that has fluoride in it. I would recommend a fluoride mouth rinse or a prescription fluoride toothpaste to use 1 time a day as well. Watch your dietary intake of sugars, carbs, energy drinks, coffee/soda/wines.  See your dentist regularly, at least 2 times a year, or every 6 months for a cleaning. READ MORE

  • Is Invisalign supposed to smell?

The trays can become 'smelly' over time.  I would recommend brushing them daily with toothpaste-like you do your teeth.  It is important to brush your teeth 2-3 times a day for 2 minutes each brushing and floss once per day.  There are denture cleaners that you can soak your Invisalign trays in as well.  Usually, only soak the trays once a week.  I would contact your orthodontist or who is doing the Invisalign trays for you and talk with them directly as well. READ MORE

  • How can you remove a cyst from your gum?

A cyst can be removed from your gum by your general dentist, a periodontist, or an oral surgeon.  Please start with your general dentist. The underlying cause of the cyst needs to be addressed first.  From there, oftentimes the cyst will heal and the tissue will heal itself removing the cyst.  Removing the cyst without addressing the underlying cause is not a great plan of action.  Please call your dentist asap. READ MORE

  • How long does laser periodontal therapy take?

Great question, I am so sorry I do not know a great answer for you. I would call the office that is doing the treatment and ask. The front office should have the best answer or they can find out for you.  I know it depends on what they are trying to or planning to do that day. My best advice is to call the office today. It is Memorial Day weekend and many specialists are off on Friday, so call today, or plan on calling next Tuesday.      READ MORE

  • Why is my partial denture loose?

The clasps of the part may have been bent and may need to be adjusted due to wear and tear. That is the usual problem with a part that is loose.  You will need to see a dentist get that adjusted or fixed, and yes it is a fixable problem usually.  READ MORE

  • What can I use to fix my partial dentures?

You need to see a general dentist or dentist.   There is nothing over the counter that should be used on partials.  Do not use superglue, gorilla glue, or any over-the-counter adhesive on your partial.  It causes more damage and those glues are not made or suppose to be used in your mouth ( once you put your partial in your mouth again, that material harms your tissue. Burns, cancer-causing, long-term issues.)  Please contact your local dentist. READ MORE

  • Can Invisalign cause health problems?

Not that I am aware of. Vaping, marijuana, drugs, and alcohol consumption all are major contributors to health problems.  READ MORE

  • How long does it take to cure gingivitis?

Depending on the severity of the case, it varies.  Continual, daily care, flossing daily, brushing 3 times a day for 2 minutes effectively,  we see gingivitis resolve easily in 1-2 weeks.  It depends on you!  Brush and floss every day, you see results and your body is much healthier. READ MORE

  • How long after the implant will I get a crown?

it can be 4-6 months usually. It depends on the system and your body integrating the implant into your body. Think of it as a cast, the body needs time to allow healing for the best result. Ask your oral surgeon for more specific questions regarding the timing of final crown placement.    READ MORE

  • Do immediate dentures look natural?

Yes, they can look natural. Do not go too white with the denture teeth, that is where they start looking unnatural. Your dentist should be able to walk you thru this. READ MORE

  • How effective is gum surgery for gum recession?

Yes, a gum graft can be very effective. I would only go to a Periodontist for this procedure though. I also generally recommend going to a non-group practice where doctors come and go frequently. Go to a Periodontist who has their own practice. Better follow-up and long-term care. READ MORE
